Video Poker

Video Poker

Video Poker which has been on the Casino floors for many years has like most Casino games grown to great hights and can now also played at almost every Online Casino as well.

Although Video Poker may seem as a pretty easy game to conquer, there are so many variations to the game. In each segment or variation of the game there is also a strategy behind it. This strategy is not one that you can adapt by reading the faces of other players or counting cards etc., but more to the point of knowing which cards to keep and which cards to discard. No it is not possible to know what the machine is going to deal out next, but by knowing the specific game one can often make a choice leaving yourself open on both sides.

Below are a few loose strategies for some of the more popular games, and rememeber you should always play maximum bets to maximize your winning potential. Aim for the highest stake, and don’t deprive yourself of the opportunity to get maximum payout with minimal bets. :-

Jacks or Better:-

Where possible, try and avoid keeping a kicker card and a pair. To obtain a inside straight although not impossible is unlikely unless you have three or four high cards. J-Q-K-A gives you an inside straight and therefore only a 10 can complete your hand. Keeping three cards to a straight flush can be maintained, but keeping three cards to a flush or straight is less likely to be obtain. Also look at not discarding your full house or two pairs for the sake of hoping to obtain four of a kind.

Deuces Wild:-

Deuces Wild is very simple and played very differntly to other video poker games as a deuce (cards with the value 2) can count as any other cards in the game. This means that you can use a deuce to complete any winning card combination in the game. If you have 4 deuces, keep all 5 cards, since this is possibly the best card combination you can get. 3 Deuces, keep the deuces only, unless you believe have the chance to create a Royal Flush or 5 of a Kind. 2 Deuces, keep the deuces only, in view of the fact that you have very little chance of 4 of a Kind or better or 4 cards to a royal flush. Deuce, keep only the deuce unless you see the opportunity to make up a better combination than what you have. No Deuces, try to create a regular card combination, but if not possible, then discard all your cards.
